My name is Asia and I created Pranalife Yoga Teacher Training to help you with that HOW.
Yoga transformed me, and for over 20 years it’s been my trusted path to becoming the person I want to be and build a life I LOVE. I help people feel more free through the simplicity of movement and meditation. I support people I admire. And I make a great living creating real change.
I’ve been preparing to help you become a badass yoga teacher for years –
I found yoga in 1998, became a Certified Advanced Instructor in 2006 and launched Pranalife Yoga Teacher Training in 2008. I’ve led over 5000 hours of yoga classes, workshops and the best yoga teacher training available, created Vine & Vinyasa events, and designed retreats to Baja, Sicily, Costa Rica and Tuscany.
Guiding, teaching, creating – it’s in my blood. I’ve walked this path, taken side roads, fallen and gotten back up a few times, and I’ve arrived. I’ve taken this journey you’re about to begin, and I’m ready to help you get where you want to be.
The world of yoga is undergoing an irreversible revolution. From a mass of “gurus” being held accountable through the #metoo movement to the inevitable changes that come with being in a mature market, yoga is experiencing a rebirth. Not everyone in the yoga community is ready for it, but everyone will be affected by it. Yoga teachers who try to cling to the ‘way it was’ are already feeling the strain of personal injuries and professional invisibility. Yoga teachers ready to evolve will break into one of the most exciting phases of yoga’s history.
I woke to this change early. It was a hard road, with a very worthwhile destination …
In 2011, I had a back injury. After 13 years of the rigours of Ashtanga Yoga, I had to re-learn how to move in a way that healed me and didn’t trigger pain. I started studying the latest research on back pain and injury (including working with world-leading back expert Dr. Stu McGill) and exploring movement practices outside of yoga. Gradually I created a better way of moving that builds strength and mobility while addressing the gaps, repetitive stress, and gymnastics-body-specific movements of traditional yoga that don’t serve many people beyond the first few years of practice.
I made my new mantra “Move now to move well at 80.” Because –
What is freedom now if it cages us in our bodies as we age? What is strength now if it’s at the expense of movement later? Why move mindlessly and do damage if we can move mindfully and generate long-term health?
When I started teaching this new movement, I was known as the core queen and go-to Ashtanga teacher in my city. This new practice would be a learning curve for my students. What I found when I started teaching it is people LOVED it. My teacher trainings and workshops sell out every year, classes are packed week after week, and Pranalife Yoga Certified Instructors are in demand because we teach something people need, want, and LOVE.

When we don’t move towards what we love, we get small and fearful. When we follow our own compass, take the path less-trodden (or carve out our own), our fears can’t hold onto us.
